Pueblo County Retail Marijuana Sales and Excise Taxes Oversight Committee
The Pueblo County Retail Marijuana Sales and Excise Taxes Oversight Committee will foster a transparent and objective review of the County's Retail Marijuana Sales and Excise Taxes revenues and expenditures and ensure that the monies are spent in accordance with the purposes described in Resolution Nos. 13-186 and 15-203, respectively.
1. Meet quarterly to review and monitor revenue receipts and expenditures of the County's Retail Marijuana Sales and Excise Taxes.
2. Annually, provide an independent report to the BOCC that includes the revenues received and identifies how the Retail Marijuana Sales and Excise Taxes were spent.
3. It is not within the purview of the Committee to direct staff, recommend any expenditures, or define the scope of the Scholarship Fund, Infrastructure and Community Development Fund projects, or what constitutes enforcement and administration of regulations on the retail marijuana industry.
The committee shall consist of seven (7) members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners, and each member shall be entitled to one vote. The presence of four (4) members shall constitute a quorum. All members shall be registered electors of Pueblo County.
County Commissioners shall appoint at least one member from Pueblo County, City of Pueblo, Pueblo West Metropolitan District, and Colorado City Metropolitan District. The remaining members shall be selected from the pool of eligible candidates.
Two members shall have initial one-year terms, two members shall have initial two-year terms, and three members shall have three-year terms. All subsequent terms shall last for three years.
Members of the committee shall in no case be considered employees or agents of Pueblo County by virtue of their membership on the committee. Committee members will seve without compensation.
