Pueblo County Workforce Board
Pursuant to the authority in the Federal Workforce Investment Act of 1998, 29 U.S.C. sec. 2801 et seq., the State Legislature adopted C.R.S. §8-71-201 et seq., the Colorado Work Force Investment Act, wherein the State set forth a work force program and employment system designed to meet the needs of employers, job seekers, and those who want to further their careers, requiring that training and employment programs be designed and managed at the local government level, with involvement of business, both to provide information and leadership and to play an active role in ensuring the system prepares people for current and future jobs.
Pursuant to the authority in C.R.S. §8-71-210, the Board of County Commissioners by Resolution No. 01-49, dated February 20, 2001, appointed a local Work Force Board and created within that Board, two councils, a Policy Council and an Advisory Council.
