Razmataz first to win Spotlight on Local Business Award

PUEBLO – A woman-owned business, who has been operating in Pueblo for 30 years was selected as the first recipient of the Spotlight on Local Business Award.  Razmataz was recognized at a Pueblo Board of County Commissioners’ meeting on Wednesday, September 20, 2017.  Razmataz is currently located at 335 South Union Avenue in Pueblo.

 

The Spotlight on Local Business Award program was launched in July 2017 by the Pueblo County Buy Local Advisory Board with the goal of bringing awareness of the diverse retail and service companies that the community has to choose from when making buying decisions.

 

Razmataz has sponsored the events of many local organizations throughout its’ 30 years such as the Pueblo Zoo, YWCA, the Assistance League, Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center and many others.   Razmataz’ level of community involvement and ability to give back has helped Razmataz weave itself into the fabric of their customers’ lives and also exhibits the businesses strong local customer base. Between 51 and 75-percent of Razmataz’ business is locally generated, with 75-percent of its workforce residing in Pueblo. 

 

“It is our community, we want to make it a better and enjoyable place to be and stay. We always try to promote Pueblo to anyone traveling through or just moving to our city. Suggesting things to do and see, giving dining options, etc. It just makes things seem better, friendlier and inviting,” Megan Miller said about Razmataz in the award nomination form.

 

The Buy Local Advisory Board received 12 nominations for the first month of the Spotlight on Local Business Award program.  All 12 nominations qualified for the program. The winner was randomly drawn. The names of the previous nominees will be included in October’s drawing.

 

The Buy Local Advisory Board has a continual nomination process, applications will be accepted at any time. Nominations can be made by independent businesses themselves or on behalf of an independent business at www.pueblocounty.us/buy-local.
